This clock uses side glow fiber optics to tell the time in a colorful way.
In this project, I focused on developing an AI-driven budget-friendly device to collect water quality data from various water resources in the field and forecast water pollution levels based on oxidation-reduction potential (ORP), pH, total dissolved solids (TDS), and turbidity measurements.
I'm Michael Lynch, software developer and blogger. I used to work as a software engineer at large companies, but now I run small software businesses of my own and blog about the process.
Forgot to bring out the recycling again? No more ... BinPal will remind you of your recycling duties, saves the planet and looks terrific on your fridge.
When I was growing up in the 90s, I remember wanting to get on the Internet. My parents weren’t going to help me, so I called up an ISP and said I wanted to set up an account. They asked for my name and I gave them a fake name. And then they asked for a credit card number and I told them I had to find my wallet and call them back.
Have you played WORDLE yet? It’s a clever word game that’s basically Mastermind with 5-letter words.
Commissioned by DesignSpark, which turned 10 in July 2020, I proposed the concept of Radioglobe to celebrate their landmark birthday. Devised in a 2x2m shed, during 2020 Covid Lockdown, on a shoestring budget, with only Zoom calls to communicate, RadioGlobe allows the user to explore thousands of the world’s radio stations by spinning a globe.

A tidy, versatile and feature-packed LORA QWERTY communication device mainly based on a Blackberry Q10 keyboard, nRF52840, SX1262 and a 2.7'' Sharp Memory LCD (LS027B7DH01).
Since I learned about LoRa I was curious about getting a communicator. I always liked walkie-talkies, and given that I go camping a few times a year, having the ability to communicate in remote areas with people nearby would be handy. With that as my motivation I started to explore the ways to leverage LoRa devices to put together a communicator tool.
Did you know you can update your outdated tile floor without removing the tile?! I updated our old, brown, dingy and dated tile floor with a floor paint coating system.
In our new house we had a huge empty wall, so I decided to build a shelf with an industrial and vintage style. I think the piece of furniture gives the room the personality we want and is much cheaper and fun to build!
In this particular case it means that all the optimizations and increases in efficiency do not go towards making a website which is faster at delivering even more megabytes. Rather it is a website which uses all the advances in technological efficiency, combined with specific hardware and software choices, to radically and drastically cut resource usage.
