This book doesn't contains any physical buttons. There is accelerometer inside the book and it can recognize your gestures. It can be used in discrete way (to switch page or to switch menu position in both directions), or it can be used in analog way (e.g. to set brightness of the NeoPixel led)
There is a whole second category of managed switches though that people don't initially think of. These are the network switches that are inside consumer routers. These routers are little Linux devices that have a switch chip inside of them, one or more ports are internally connected to the CPU and the rest are on the outside as physical ports.
When you’re going to build something big, it’s often a good idea to start small and work out the bugs first. That’s what [bitluni] did with his massive 1200-pixel LED video wall, which he unveiled at Maker Faire Hanover recently.
Modular 3D Printed LED Ping Pong Ball Display
Create a large display from 3D printed modular components without circuit boards
Ping-pong balls have many uses: apart from playing table tennis, they have been used for countless art projects, science experiments, and even to raise ships from the bottom of the ocean. As it turns out, they also come in handy as diffusers for LED pixels, allowing the construction of large-size displays without requiring large individual LEDs.
This setup blew my already high expectations! I'm having so much fun with it. And the best part is, the camera is super affordable (I bought mine for just under $100, and it goes for $90-120 depending on color and condition). 12 megapixels is more than enough. And this DIY infrared mod is super easy to do! Don't worry, I'll show you how I did it so you can decide if you want to convert your camera to infrared as well.

Rackmounting that which should not be rackmounted
I have Kiwix and an offline copy of wikipedia on my phone, and my local Gen Z was so surprised and excited by the concept that I thought we should have a dedicated thing for it. Cheap e-reader plus 128GB SD card plus no wifi.

How HLS Works
I had a few of PCBs left over from the V3 MetaClockClock, and originally I planned to finish a build with them by the end of 2020. But as always: things took a bit longer than expected, so I finally finished it today on the first day of the year 2021.
TrafficMonitor.ai, the Traffic Monitor, is an open source smart city traffic monitoring software built with commodity hardware to capture holistic roadway usage. Utilizing edge machine learning object detection and Doppler radar, it counts pedestrians, bicycles, and cars and measures vehicle speeds.
What would you do with dozens and dozens of outdated Chromebooks that are no longer getting updates from the Google Mothership? It’s a situation that plenty of schools will have to deal with in the near future, and we can only help that those institutions have students as clever as [Varun Biniwale] and his friend [Aksel Salmi] to lean on — as they managed to recycle ten of these outdated laptops into an impressive video display.
Running the 'Coding Club' at school, our mentor Mr. Bush suggested creating a "Videowall" out of Chromebooks the school was going to throw away. We thought it was just another teacher with a fanciful tech idea with no idea how hard it would be to execute.
The world's most unhinged video wall (made out of Chromebooks)
